Menegbe Aduwa

What's the time my senior asked me? I wanted to check my phone but remembered I had a flat battery so I checked my wrist watch. I mistakenly told him the wrong time, but when I realized my mistake on a second glance on the wrist watch I realized I was wrong. Ahhh!! And he wrote it down on a document already. The Holy Spirit asked me to tell him the correct thing. But I started to struggle with that instruction. Firstly I didn't want him to have to correct it because it will make the document rough. Plus who does that ? 😅 Just put yourself in my shoes.

I went home for the weekend, but what I didn't know was that this was going to plague my Spirit the entire weekend. I was about to pray that Friday evening and the Holy Spirit brought it to my remembrance. Ahh!! This small thing?🙆‍♀️ But it was not small o. I struggled to pray, I asked for forgiveness. The instruction was still heavy to tell the truth. I didn't understand why. Plus I began to feel like how will it look when I have to correct myself again. 🥺 Isn't it embarrassing?😪 Tor after a while I decided that I will talk to someone about it, but even I knew that it wasn't the way this time because Pastor Desmond had told me before now that I must take note of whatever affects my peace irrespective of what anyone says.

I just reluctantly agreed to tell the truth on Monday because it will be best to apologize in person.  I attended a meeting that weekend and part of what the minister said was "I am more concerned about pleasing God than my audience" Hmmm. That spoke to me that it didn't matter what anyone thinks, I had to do as the Holy Spirit instructed.

I carried this burden of sin throughout the weekend. I asked the Lord to create the avenue to bring it up on Monday too. So on Monday I just told him the truth. He accepted my apology and I was relieved. Few minutes later, he was asking me again, what the time was. This time I replied correctly.😁

Lessons to learn

1)  If you are reading this and the Lord has been speaking to you on a particular issue, stop struggling with God's instruction and yield.

2) You don't need to carry your burden of sin. Receive forgiveness from the Lord, through His blood and where restitution is necessary , do as the Spirit leads.

3) It's okay to apologize,  You cannot  replace tongues with apology.  It doesn't matter what the person will think about you, what matters most is that you are doing what God expects of you. Leave pride alone sister Choir and brother Usher.😀 You will not die.

4) The weight of sin is heavy brothers and sisters. There is nothing worth loosing your peace on and furthermore nothing worth spending your life in hell for. Make your ways right with God. He is ready to carry your burdens.

"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light." Mathew 11:28-30 (Kjv)

It's a blessed month already for us.
